A Stone Street in England

This is a scene from Workington, England. (see..this blog truly is random)I found this picture while helping a lady do research on her g g granfather who was a captain of a clipper ship that was in The Great Tea Race from London to China. One site said he was born in Workington...so here is a scene from modern Workington. I wonder how old this stone street is....

Been thinking about my favorite food: blueberries! John planted a bush in a pot and it is blooming now.

A Book Room

I do not remember where I got this picture, but I like it. I like books...I would love to have a book room like this! Enough said!

Digital Learning Center UVC

Digital Learning Center, Utah Valley College, Orem, Utah

I love this picture! I have seen the building in real life. I love the time of day. I love that "all blue" feeling that happens often after the sun goes down (but not always). I call it "The blue time". In this learning center, there are just lots of windows...and lights shining out...the lights a symbol of the light of knowledge. There are rows and rows of computer terminals with students at the,...you do not see shelves of books. You do not see "the stacks" and people roaming up and down reading call numbers on the book spines. This is digital learning. I hope those student remember to get up and walk around every half hour! To give their butts a break!

Design

I was browsing on the Internet and when I cam across this picture from kaboodle.com. I thought...how lovely...how unique. Take a simple object, not very lovely (like a dish drainer) and give it some class! Hooray for creative designers!
